Lawrenceburg Woman Falls Victim To Fraud

   A Lawrenceburg woman filed a complaint with local law enforcement officials in past days, indicating that someone had illegally gained access to her bank account and had withdrawn funds without her consent.

   The sixty-one-year-old victim reported the incident through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department last week. She indicated that on January 9, someone had withdrawn $673.87 from her account at Bank of America without her knowledge.

   She reported that she had allowed an acquaintance to use her account card to purchase a dog kennel from Quality Outdoor Products a year ago. The illegal withdrawal was made under the same company name. When she spoke with company officials, they indicated they possessed no invoice for the purchase in question.

   The victim reported that she was already working with the bank’s fraud department regarding the crime.
